1. Nightmare before Christmas

This is a somewhat atypical Christmas movie, as it mixes the darkness and terror of the Halloween party with the color and joy of Christmas. The protagonist of the story is Jack, the King of Halloween City, an undead who is considered a celebrity among his neighbors, as he has great abilities to scare. However, this is something he is no longer passionate about.

One day, taking a walk around the city, he comes across a door decorated with Christmas decorations. Without hesitation, he pushes the door open and, suddenly, he is transported to a world very different from his own, a world full of happiness, magic and hope. This is the City of Christmas! Such is his fascination with the holiday that, upon returning home, he decides to tell the rest of the villagers and create his own Christmas.

To do this, assign each of the inhabitants a mission: make gifts, create decorations, build a sleigh, sew a Santa suit, etc. He even sends three little ones to kidnap the real Santa Claus.

Obviously, this plan does not go as well as Jack hoped. Do you want to know what happens? Go ahead and watch this movie full of music and great teachings with your children!

2. The Grinch

The Grinch is a kind of green, furry monster who hates Christmas above all else. He lives isolated on the top of a mountain, located on the outskirts of Villa Who, a town that usually celebrates the Christmas holidays in style.

The Grinch, tired of seeing so much happiness, love and joy around him, decides to steal Christmas, leaving the inhabitants of Who Village without their expected gifts. To do this, he devises an elaborate plan to impersonate Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and thus finally end Christmas.

Do you want to know how the story ends? You have two options: watch the live action movie released in 2000 or its new 3D animated version from 2018.

3. Klaus

This film tells the story of a young man named Jesper, who is characterized as a brat and lazy. This makes his father, responsible for the postal service, decide to send him as a postman to Smeerensburg, a cold and isolated city, located in the Arctic Circle, where he has to meet the challenge of delivering 6000 letters in a year.

As soon as they arrive in town, Jesper realizes that it is a very complicated mission, since his neighbors live in constant conflict, almost without speaking and, of course, without writing letters to each other.

Luckily, the young man one day meets Klaus, an old carpenter who lives in isolation in a cabin full of toys  made by him. This new friendship, and many others made throughout the adventure, make both Jesper and the rest of the inhabitants of Smeerensburg change their way of seeing life. What do we mean by this?
